Backpackers By The Bay Hostel - Airlie Beach

The staff, especially Nina, was incredibly friendly and helpful. The hostel was spotlessly clean and well-organized. I loved that each guest had their own locker for valuables. The location was perfect, just a short walk from the Greyhound bus stop. And the small, delightful details throughout the hostel showed the love and passion put into creating a wonderful atmosphere. I felt right at home.

We had an amazing time at Backpackers By The Bay. Our spacious rooms with efficient air conditioning made for a comfortable stay. The friendly staff made us feel right at home, and we loved the regular housecleaning. The highlight was the daily visits from friendly cockatoos, a true testament to the welcoming atmosphere. The social areas were well-designed, creating a brilliant social atmosphere. The location was great, with a short walk to the center of town and the Port of Airlie nearby. a fantastic place to relax, meet like-minded travelers, and feel part of a family.

Can't recommend this hotel highly enough.

The super nice team and helped me book last-minute activities. The communal area outside was cozy and the bar had cheap drinks and snacks. The location was also great, away from the main strip but still within walking distance. I had a positive experience and would recommend this hostel.

backpackers by the bay in airlie beach was an amazing experience! the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, providing lots of advice and creating a chilled atmosphere. the self-made gym and the opportunity to feed friendly cockatoos and wildlife were unique and enjoyable features. the clean kitchen and good facilities added to the overall positive experience.

The location of the hostel was perfect, just a short walk away from the main strip and with a beautiful view over the harbor. being right across from the coach stop made it very convenient for transportation. The daily pub quiz in the communal area was a fun and enjoyable activity.

One major drawback was the noise level at night. Despite signs emphasizing a "chilled" atmosphere and restrictions on music, the hostel was still quite loud well into the early hours, making it necessary to use earplugs.

The location of the hostel was quite convenient, being close to the town center and bus terminal/marina. It made it easy to explore and take day trips.

It was evident that the place needed a good clean, especially the hallways and bathrooms. The dormitory rooms were cramped, and the air conditioning was noisy and ineffective in cooling the room.

the staff at Backpackers By the Bay were lovely and the rooms were clean and comfortable. One thing I really liked was the separate bathrooms for males and females. They also offered a delicious breakfast selection for only $3 per day. the communal spaces, both indoors and outdoors, were plentiful and the pool was a nice addition. the shuttle to the Marina for boat tours was convenient, although it was only one way. the evening movies were a lovely touch and added to the social atmosphere. I would definitely stay here again, but with less luggage!

It was all superb.

I absolutely loved my stay at this nice and clean hostel. The reception staff, especially Maria, were amazing! They were very inclusive and took care of any issues promptly. The double rooms were comfortable and the warm blankets were a nice touch. The hostel also had a chill hammock area and a pool table for entertainment. The kitchen closing at 11:30pm was convenient. And let's not forget the friendly wild cockatoos that would visit in the afternoon!

the double room I stayed in at Backpackers By the Bay was lovely, with a comfortable bed, lots of natural light, and plenty of storage space. the shared bathrooms were clean and well-maintained. In the morning, there was a delicious $3 breakfast available with a variety of options, including fruit, bread, spreads. Throughout the day, free tea and coffee were available when the reception was open. the staff at the hostel were all excellent, providing helpful and friendly service. the location was great, with a short walk to the Main Street and easy access to transportation. it was a basic room without frills, but it provided everything we needed during our stay. Cons: Everything was spot on 👌.

I had such a great time at Backpackers By The Bay! The social atmosphere was brilliant, with well-set-out social areas. The staff, especially Chris and Phil, were lovely and made everyone feel welcome. The nightly quiz in the bar was a fun way to meet new people and make friends. The location was also fantastic, with easy parking on the street and a quick walk into town. Plus, being close to the Port of Airlie was a bonus!

Would definitely recommend this hotel.
